Sunrise Engagement at The Griffith Observatory

A sunrise engagement at The Griffith Observatory is always a good idea. Whether you are a local or someone visiting, seeing the Griffith Observatory is special. It’s been in so many movies and just iconic Los Angeles. There’s no wrong time to see it, but if you are looking to take engagement or anniversary photos, the best time is sunrise probably any day of the week, or sunset Tuesday through Thursday. Best months to photograph are probably October-April to avoid early morning tourists.

K + N opted for sunrise and I absolutely loved photographing them at that time, it felt like we're the only ones there on a Sunday. Except the fun helicopter pilot N knows! It was such a fun way to start their early morning. I shot their session in mid November and it was perfect before tourist season really picked up.

You never know what kind of sunrise you’ll get, but this day we got this beautiful red glowy sun. The fog was perfect over the city and really made the rest of the morning stunning. I love that N went with a classic black suit, because not only is it super timeless + classic, but it really made K’s dress pop! I enjoyed photographing these two so much and can’t wait for their wedding day in April!
