Malibu, California | El Matador Beach Engagement session

A casual mini engagement shoot at El Matador beach in Malibu, California. I have been dreaming of shooting in Malibu for as along as I can remember. Growing up on the East coast my whole life and finally living on the West coast and getting to shoot here, has been the dream. A few tips, if you choose to do your session at El Matador Beach, make sure to avoid weekends, as it gets super busy. It’s a stunning beach and perfect for sunrise or sunset.

These two sweet hearts hired me to shoot their wedding this October in Kauai, Hawaii and I am BEYOND excited and honored! They originally didn't want to do an engagement session, but since I was in Los Angeles for a couple of days, they were so sweet to met up with me so we could hangout!

I learned so much about these two, how they are so tender, gentle and fun with each other. How they love, how they move and how they kindly interact with the world. Which I think is so important for couples to do before I photograph their wedding. Next time I get to photograph K + C again will be the night before their wedding! If engagement sessions aren’t your thing, that's totally okay! Having a night before session, meaning when you are in your rehearsal dinner attire is so fun and such a great time to slip away while you are all dressed up and feeling so excited, for the what the day holds the next day! I actually love night before sessions more, because it gives me the opportunity to tell your whole wedding weekend story.
