I have always dreamed of visiting Joshua Tree, let alone getting the opportunity to actually shoot an engagement session there! J + K knew that my husband and I were road tripping to Palm Springs + Joshua tree and decided that they wanted something different for their engagement session. They live in the PNW and doing a fun desert session was right up their alley. Joshua Tree is honestly the perfect neutral palette for an engagement session. It feels wild, it’s absolutely stunning and you can basically wear anything out there. Not to mention, you feel like the only ones out there and it’s only 2.5 hours away from Los Angeles!

You’ll see that J wore the funnest little outfits, I always recommend 2 outfits since most of my engagement sessions feel like they are split into 2. Not actually 2 sessions, but the first 45 minutes you are just warming up and the sun is a little higher. The second half you are a little more comfortable and the sunset is literally perfect. But for J + K this was actually the 3rd time I was photographing them! I met them 2 years ago when J wanted to hire me for their date-versary session, then K hired me when he was going to propose and now their engagement! How sweet to be apart of all of their major milestones!?

I cannot wait to photograph their stunning wedding in Oregon next summer. It’s going to be such an honor after all this time.
